The reunion before the reunion met on July 3 at the Rock-a-Belly. Kansas was especially beautiful this year. HOT, but beautiful! The official 45th reunion of the MHS Class of '64 started Friday evening, July 10, 2009, at the Aggieville Pizza Hut with an informal gathering at 6:00 p.m. The high school was open Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 for anyone interested in taking a walk down memory lane. At 10:00 a.m. a bus tour of the town left from the high school. There have been many changes in Manhattan over the past 5 years. Around 12:30 p.m., anyone who wanted met at Vista Drive Inn for lunch. Saturday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 there was a social gathering at Paddy O'Quigley's in the Clarion Hotel. Saturday evening we met at the Blue Hills Room in the Blue Hills Shopping Center for dinner and continued socializing. Norm Byers was our Master of Ceremonies.Sunday morning there was a worship service from 9:30 to 10:15 at the First Congregational Church led by Ken Hamlin. Afterward, anyone who wanted to met at Sirloin Stockade for brunch.
Members of your reunion committee were Jean Bigbee Hill, Susan Endacott Sayson, Max Fritz, Jim Morrison and Kathleen Wilson Selvidge. By the time of the reunion, we had received 30 contributions for the Scholarship Fund approaching $2,000.00. Contributions can be sent anytime and are tax deductible.
